I usually wear a wide width, but I found the medium width to be very comfortable. I use orthotics (for plantar fasciitis) and have no pain at all when wearing these shoes.I bought them primarily for snowy or rainy days. But I have been wearing them daily since I like them so much.

I bought these shoes to wear on the weekends. I wanted shoes that were waterproof, comfortable with lots of support and a dark color to hide the dirt. These shoes were perfect. I can stand and walk in them all day with no strain or aches to my feet or ankles.

As someone with flat feet that pronate, the features of this shoe are terrific. It's a great outdoor walking shoe and very comfortable. I ordered a 1/2 size up, as I tend to wear thicker socks, and it fits perfect. Love the fact that it's waterproof, too!

Replacement show for 975

I purchased the 977 because this is the replacement shoe for the 975 (according to New Balance). However, the 977 is not quite as long as the 975 (women's size 11). The toe feels just a little crowded. Other than that, this is a great shoe for walking.
Wears this shoe: Walking 50 minutes every morning.
Not waterproof, but really comfortable.

I love the feel of these boots! They are so comfortable and perfect fitting on me. If you have narrow feet they will be way too wide for you. I normally wear a wide width (D) but these are a D even though they say B.

Out of 8 different hiking boots this is the only one that was wide enough for my feet and was very comfortable also. I didn't have time to really break them in but the shoes were very comfortable hiking.

This is a wonderful shoe. I have knee problems when I walk any distance. This is the first time in several years, I am able to work any distance at all without pain. The only negative is that it is slightly heavier than the lighter more summer type New Balance Athletic shoes. I will definitely keep an extra pir of these shoes in my closet. They are great for everything especially walking on hard surfaces.

Need a water-proof shoe and have trouble finding a comfortable walking/hiking shooe. My heel is narrow; my arch very high, but I have a wide toe box. Luckily, New Balance usually has something that works for me. I'll probably buy another one of these before they stop producing it.
