This is a great shoe for those beginning to walk. My daughter is 14 months and she walks very comfortably in these shoes. Leather is soft and of excellent quality. The higher shoe stabilizers her feet and helps with her balance. I would highly recommend them.

Had been given advice that having a shoe with ankle support is strongly recommended for beginning walkers. My little squirt has never had any blisters or rubbing from these and they are easy to put on little feet even though they are lace up. It is easy to loosen the laces and open up the shoe to get wiggly pigs in there. The rubberized toe is a definite plus for the moments they still take off crawling and/or stub feet on tables, walls, etc. Have had for about a month and no major wear and tear to be seen. Easy to wipes any scuffs or dirt with a wipe and it comes right off.

I like this shoe because the infant/todler's ankle is supported and it gives her flexibility in her toes. Because her ankles were big I found this shoe to be perfect for her. Also, this shoe is easy to clean up at night with a baby wipe and they look great for the next day.

I bought this as a first shoe for my 1 year old who is now cruising and taking some 1st steps. We tried the shoe on at a Stride Rite store and bought it online for a better price. The shoes offer great support for her ankles, and the leather upper is durable and can be easily wiped clean. The color matches all of her clothes.

This is the second pair of this shoe my daughter has had. She can walk easily in them, they support her feet and they flex. She does not wear them in the house but wears them when we go anywhere else. The first pair took a lot of abuse and held up great.

I love Stride Rite because the shoes are well made. I live on an island and have to order on- line since Stride Rite is not available here.The shoe is nice and well made. My daughter just now started to walk, so soon she will outgrow this size. The padding around the ankle will protect her from rubbing spots. She really walks securely in this shoe. It looks adorable and is well made. I like the ankle support. I can only guess that there is a great foot support, since I am not wearing the shoe...But my daughter loves this shoe and enjoys walking in them. It is her first pair...A very adorable shoe. However, when she uses this shoe, I put socks on her and have noticed that it is harder to put the shoe on her feet, even when I open it up all the way...that is frustrating to both of us, Perhaps ordering a wide, instead of an M, for width will solve that problem. I really like the shoe and how stable it is, which helps her to walk well. She is a beginner, and perhaps she would actually benefit from stage 2 shoes, but I chose this pair and it should be okay. I like the shoe; it is well made and her feet don't get too hot, but it is hard to get on her feet (seems to be a bit narrow).
