Wears this shoe: all the time Reviewer: Terry from San Diego Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoes seem to be well constructed and look and feel good. I haven't hiked in them much as yet, but I like the fit and design. Leather upper with side vents seem to be a good combination for my needs. They didn't require any breaking in. I wear 10.5W.The width was perfect. With regular socks the length is good. With thicker socks, they feel a bit short. 11's would be too big so I will just wear them with regular-weight socks. I bought these primarily to do yard work, cut grass, etc. The cheapy Wally World (Walmart) boots I had been buying had super soft soles that wear out very fast. I have had these boots about six months. Likes: Price, very comfortable right out of the box, soles have good grip and seem to wear well. Dislikes: HiTec does not proclaim these to be waterproof. Actually, I find them to be sponge-like. Even walking through just wet grass leads to wet socks. The uppers soak up the water very quickly. I do not recommend these boots in the presence of moisture. Spend the extra money for the waterproof HiTecs. Other dislikes: I have high arches, these boots have minimal arch support. I need to buy aftermarket inserts (Superfeet, etc). The footboard (or whatever you call it)under the insole is just cardboard fastened in place. Seems very cheap and deteriorates/shreds when the boot gets wet inside (which it will unless you live in the desert). Also, the tongue is not quite tall enough. The laces seems to ride above it when you tie them. Another half inch of tongue with a lace loop would cure that. Wears this shoe: Mostly for yard work a few hours a week. Reviewer: Ben from Seneca, South Carolina Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Shoes are light, god fit to size, and did not feel as if they had to be broken in. Comfortable from day one. Wears this shoe: outside, mild hiking, around town Reviewer: Randy from Duluth, MN Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width This boot is very comfortable and it is good looking (stylish)... I would buy it again! Wears this shoe: Daily...work and play Reviewer: Mike from Sacramento, California Shoe Size: Felt half size smaller than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width This is one of the best shoes I've ever worn. I do a lot of standing at my job and these are comfortable all day even though they were a little snug at first. I would recommend these shoes to anyone. Wears this shoe: All the time. Reviewer: Bob R. from Locust, NC Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Bought this for my son, quickly growing feet. He has already worn them on two camping trips. They seem to do really well. The first trip it rained constantly and his feet stayed dry despite the sloppy conditions. Wears this shoe: Camping, hiking Reviewer: Dave Kuenzel from North Ridgeville Ohio Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width They gave excellent ankle and arch support. I was recovering from a broken ankle and the shoes were recommended to me by a friend who had also broken his ankle. I like them so well that I have bought two pair. Wears this shoe: Almost all the time Reviewer: PB from Arizona Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Probably my fifth pair of HiTec hiking boots. Nothing compares in the price range, even twice the price. Period. Reviewer: Retired contractor. Likes to hunt and fish. from Muskogee, Oklahoma Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I have worn the hi-tec brand for a couple of years. The quality is good, they wear well, and the price is reasonable. Wears this shoe: for work and play Reviewer: Rick from Paris, MO Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width The hiking boots fit very well and I have a very wide foot. I have about 40 miles on them, walking in fields and woods on my farm. Very satisfied. Wears this shoe: Every day while doing my cardio walks Reviewer: HydroBlue Pools from Chandler, AZ Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I bought this to wear as just normal walking around boots. The size is great because I need a very wide width. These are a wide size and are very comfortable. They are true to size and seem to be pretty well made with a solid construction. If you need a wide size boot that is not waterproof, then you can not beat these. Wears this shoe: Walking, hiking.
