I love this sandal.It took me awhile to find the right fit. I am mostly an 8.5 and sometimes a 9 in women's shoes.I began with the 40 which was incredibly large on me. Then I ordered the 39 without the soft bed.I had also purchased the Birkenstock Bali and realized with my sensitive feet that the soft bed would be better. Shoebuy.com is great about returns and exchanges.Finally, on the 3rd try, I got the 39 regular with the soft foot bed. I have an incredibly comfortable pair of sandals. Wearing them is like no other shoe I have ever had. It's like walking barefoot with a really comfortable cushion beneath my feet.

Great sandal. First time buyer. There should be more holes in the straps which I did after buying. Also front buckle has too much overlap which rubs against toes. Had to have it cut down by a shoemaker. It would help if there were material under the straps to alleviate rubbing.

Fantastic sandals

These sandals are from the 'Soft Footbed' range of Birkenstock and feel instantly comfortably. I have a very short and wide foot, so need size 35 and the Regular width fitting and also a very high arch. In the UK I cannot find sandals which are wide enough or that have straps long enough to go over the arch of my foot. I am so pleased I discovered Birkenstock. I would thoroughly recommend these sandals. I really would like more choice of pretty colours though in the Soft Footbed range but am pleased that size 35R is available.
Wears this shoe: Nearly every day, They are great for one's posture & comfort.

I was frustrated not being able to find any sandals with a real buckle. Everything is Velcro and that is completely useless. I had never owned Birkenstock before, but got it when I saw it had a real buckle. OK, now I get it. They're really nice. I fell for the statement that these are sized a half size larger than marked so order smaller. Don't fall for that - these are sized correctly. I had to send my first pair back because they were too small.

I've become a huge fan of these! I was always leery of Birkenstocks because they look like they'd be hard on the feet, but this style with the extra foot padding makes these immediately comfortable. I read the reviews and followed the recommendation of ordering a size smaller (I wear a 7 and ordered a 6 and a 7. The 7 was too big!). I also read to wear them a little loose in the beginning, which was great advice! I was perfectly comfortable in these from the start and have now begun to move the straps around to get that perfect fit. These are awesome on my heel spur. The way the shoe is designed, my heel is cradled with no pressure on the spur. If you are thinking about buying this, go for it!
Wears this shoe: casually on the weekends until I get the nerve to also wear them to work.

These are a little wide for my feet, but I like having the extra space and back strap as I have a bunion, and need a little width in the forefront. My only complaint is that little rocks get embedded in the sole of the shoe and if not careful about taking them out, they scratch wood floors.

These are extremely comfortable. The soft footbed is a perfect fit and since it's so comfortable right out of the box, there's no break-in period. I bought these to replace a similar pair purchased 12 years ago that had finally worn out. Love the look and feel. These may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for a comfortable, well made long lasting leather sandal I would highly recommend these.

All during high school I rocked birkenstocks.. winter, summer, all year round. I had at least 4 different styles, but as you get older and fashion evolves, my birks were on the backburner. In celebration of earth day I bought my first pair in probably a decade.. I am so stoked.. the fact that these have a soft bed now, is probably the best thing ever. Having kids now, and always being on the move, these are sandals you can live in.. since getting them, I wear them more then my ugg slippers in the house.. and I am on vacation at the moment.. and even in the sandy beaches of Florida, they are better then the usual roxy flip flops or crocs I wear to the beach.. these are a great buy, and so worth the money
