Great Hiking Shoe

I bought these shoes for our cruise and cruise tour to Alaska. They were comfortable right out of the box and had minimal break in time. In Alaska we hiked on glaciers and in the Denali National Park. My feet stayed dry and warm. I did spray them with a water repellent spray before we left home and that worked great.Would highly recommend these boots.
Wears this shoe: Hiking and going around town.

I don't have a bad thing to say about these shoes. I absolutely love them! I've never in my life bought shoes without trying them on first since I have so much trouble finding shoes that don't hurt my feet. But after reading all the good reviews and the fact that they were nice looking, I thought I'd take a chance and order. I was not disappointed. They fit right out of the box. Truely no break-in period and no sore areas on my feet. Great buy!

This is by far the best boot I've ever owned. I first bought them in early 2007 and since then they have seen over 20 countries and every condition imaginable. Countless hikes, mud, sand dunes, snow, rain, boulders, asphalt, I've thrown everything you can imagine at them and they're still going strong. Even the waterproofing is still intact. From day one they were extremely comfortable and have stayed that way since. I would and probably will buy these boots again and I recommend them highly.

All the positive reviews on this boot are correct! I have a pair of Timberland boots that I have never liked so hesitated to buy these. I'm so glad I got them. The first time I put them on, they felt like I'd been wearing them for years - there was no break in necessary. Buy them, you won't be disappointed!

This boot is very comfortable right out of the box. Has a shoe feel to it. My biggest complaint is that the boot is cold in the winter. Unlike hiking boots there does not seem to be any insulation in the bottom of this boot. So unless you are constantly moving your feet will not stay warm.
Wears this shoe: I wear it hiking, volksmarching, and in wet weather.

My new boots are just perfect. The fit my feet exactly correct and I love the waterproof feature. In addition, the soles are fabulous for walking on our sloping icy in-drive. I strongly recommend these boots to anyone who lives in "snow country".

I bought these boots because they are one of the few that come in a wide width. I put them on to break them in and wore them around for two days. I don't think they needed a break-in, though, since they were very comfortable around the house, even sitting in the car and at my desk. I have often found high-topped boots uncomfortable in the car. I have yet to take them on a hike, but I have great expectations.

I found this Woman's Chochorua Trail Boot to be exactly what I was looking for. It was comfortable on day one. It fits well and is waterproof in the bad weather. I walk 3-4 miles a day over rough, sometimes wet ground. I've even walked in low water. It is very easy to put on and stays well-laced. No matter what the terrain, my feet stay comfortable. They do get a little warm, but the trade-offs are well worth it. It might be a little too warm in the very hot dry weather. I'll still love them. Great price!!!

I normally wear a size 10. They don't make these in 10 1/2, so I got size 11 because you are supposed to wear 2 pairs of socks when hiking. The first day I got them I went two miles on a treadmill, just to try them out and make sure they wouldn't hurt my feet. They worked out fine. Next I took them out on a 5+ mile hike over various hiking surfaces. They seem to grip pretty well. It was wet out, but there was no snow or ice, so it's hard to tell how good they might be on icy surfaces. These are the first hiking boots that I have not had to break in - they were comfortable from the first use.
Wears this shoe: I got these for an Alaskan trip. I wear them out hiking.

I have a really hard time finding a decent ladies boot that offers everything I want (i.e., warmth, waterproof, comfort, nice look) and this boot offers it all. I go up 1/2 size in boots because of my high instep, but the 6 feels very good on my feet and I just use two socks to take up the extra space. My feet are warm and my legs and feet don't ache from ill-fitting shoes. I am sure to get a lot of wear out of these in the fall and winter seasons.

The first time I wore these it was for an intense weekend of hiking in the rain forest. They survived the first 3 mile hike without a single problem, but by the end of the weekend and the last 6 mile hike, my left boot was filled with water. The sales associate said it was from a bad seem that let water seep through, so I just exchanged them for an identical pair. I havn't found any other boot as comfortable as these. They didn't need broken in, they accomadate my wide foot and high arch and for the MOST part. they can survive a rain forest.
