I found this Woman's Chochorua Trail Boot to be exactly what I was looking for. It was comfortable on day one. It fits well and is waterproof in the bad weather. I walk 3-4 miles a day over rough, sometimes wet ground. I've even walked in low water. It is very easy to put on and stays well-laced. No matter what the terrain, my feet stay comfortable. They do get a little warm, but the trade-offs are well worth it. It might be a little too warm in the very hot dry weather. I'll still love them. Great price!!!

So Far a Good Hiking Boot

I normally wear a size 10. They don't make these in 10 1/2, so I got size 11 because you are supposed to wear 2 pairs of socks when hiking. The first day I got them I went two miles on a treadmill, just to try them out and make sure they wouldn't hurt my feet. They worked out fine. Next I took them out on a 5+ mile hike over various hiking surfaces. They seem to grip pretty well. It was wet out, but there was no snow or ice, so it's hard to tell how good they might be on icy surfaces. These are the first hiking boots that I have not had to break in - they were comfortable from the first use.
Wears this shoe: I got these for an Alaskan trip. I wear them out hiking.

I have a really hard time finding a decent ladies boot that offers everything I want (i.e., warmth, waterproof, comfort, nice look) and this boot offers it all. I go up 1/2 size in boots because of my high instep, but the 6 feels very good on my feet and I just use two socks to take up the extra space. My feet are warm and my legs and feet don't ache from ill-fitting shoes. I am sure to get a lot of wear out of these in the fall and winter seasons.

The first time I wore these it was for an intense weekend of hiking in the rain forest. They survived the first 3 mile hike without a single problem, but by the end of the weekend and the last 6 mile hike, my left boot was filled with water. The sales associate said it was from a bad seem that let water seep through, so I just exchanged them for an identical pair. I havn't found any other boot as comfortable as these. They didn't need broken in, they accomadate my wide foot and high arch and for the MOST part. they can survive a rain forest.

I purchased this boot off another review saying they had high arches and this boot worked. They were right. I have very high arches and need support especially when on a trail. The first time I used them, we took a 3 mile hike. They fit great, no rubbing, no blisters. Next day was a 5 mile hike, pretty steep grade, a little sliding inside the boot and some pressure on the back of the lower calf, but again, no soreness or blisters. I would buy these boots again.

I have not been able to find a wide width women's hiker until now. I am hiking Ireland and these are comfortable although not lightweight. These have been the most comfortable boots I have found and highly recommend them to any woman with a small wide foot. I have been crammed into a Vasque and Timberland is my brand now, I'll be wearing T'land boots from now on.

I've worn these for everyday urban adventures and for hiking in Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. They are great in both cold and warm weather. The Gore-Tex sections of the boot really allow your feet to stay dry and comfortable for day-long hikes. These don't need much breaking in and they are lightweight hikers when compared to other brands I've worn.

My feet are short, wide, with high arches and insteps. Consequently well-fitting shoes are hard to find. But, the Timberland Chochorua Trail feels comfortable and fits great. My arches are well-supported and there's room to accommodate the width of my foot and high insteps. I've had good luck with Timberland before. I'll definitely be a repeat customer again.

These are very light, have high-quality contruction, good traction, and look great. However, the lacing system with open hooks versus eyes for top two ties takes some getting used to. They are good looking waterproof boot, excellent value.
