Great for orthotics! July 28, 2008

Have worn orthotics in my shoes for years but found it difficult as I grew older to find a good looking shoe other than an athletic shoe to fit them in. This Dunham shoe, in both white and black, has filled the need for a dressy looking, casual pant shoe.

I wanted to try a little more expensive brand with the same styling to see if they would have more support and a longer life span. I feel this shoe does have better support for my high arches for which I wear custom made shoe inserts. I don't know about the life span yet. These shoes also go up the foot a little higher (closer to the ankle) which is nice for keeping them on my foot with my inserts, although I cannot use the first set of eyelets because of this or the shoes cut into the bottom of my ankle.
Wears this shoe: when I need to be on my feet all day with casual work clothes

I like the way the shoe supports my feet but it is too hard and stiff for me. I'm hoping they soften up a little the more I wear them.

I need a good support shoe. Im a hairdresser, so im on my feet all day. These shoes are great. Very comfortable. I did get blisters on my heel though. Im not use to a shoe coming up higher on the heel. After I got past that, it is smooth sailing.

I really like the Ellese Peru shoe. This was as close to style as I could find. The Ellese Peru fits my feet perfectly, the Dunham Greenland was not the same but overall a good shoe. I have orthotics that have to fit in the shoe. After broken-in, they are fine.

These shoes felt a little tight when I first put them on. But, by the end of the day, they felt like they were made just for me! I wear these shoes to work everyday for anywhere from 9 hours to 16 hours a day. My feet do not hurt at the end of the day and I am in no hurry to remove my shoes immediately upon arriving home.
Wears this shoe: I wear these shoes to work at a busy Veterinary Hospital.
