Reviewer: J Roberts from Liberty, MO Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width Made decision based on reviews and recommendations. They indicated this was the best hiking boot available. We bought for my son's trip to Philmont later this year, and he is quite pleased with the fit, feel and comfort. Wears this shoe: Philmont Scout Ranch Reviewer: Jim from NJ Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I had an old pair of leather Timberlands. They keep getting wet, and need a new sole. Tried these Asolo's and I won't go back. They are terrific. Comfortable. Breathe well. Waterproof. Worth every penny. They are comfy out of the box. Looking forward to hiking out West this summer. Wears this shoe: Cold & snow in winter - Hiking in warmer months Reviewer: Tom from Wilmington, Delaware Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked This is my 2nd pair of Asolo boots. I had a pair of the same style boot that I wore twice a day for 2 yrs. in wet grass and leaves. I like the fit and feel of these boots. I have a narrow foot and wear orthotics. The boot is the most comfortable boot and best fitting boot I have encountered in the last 20 years. I find most boots to be too wide and allow my foot to move too much. I do not have this problem with these boots. Wears this shoe: Every day to walk my dogs through a wooded and grassy area. Reviewer: Gene Downes from California Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Light weight, quality workmanship, stylish and overall great fit. Not quite as comfortable as the 520's, but still ahead of the competition! Wears this shoe: Walking the dog; yard work, basic chores, light hike. Reviewer: Chris from Sammamish, WA Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I wanted a boot that was lightweight, waterproof, and that was comfortable. After reading lots of online reviews, I choose this boot as it was highly recommended by many users. These boots are great and fit the bill, and I strongly recommend them. Right out of the box, these boots were the ultimate in comfort and have NEVER given me a hot spot or blister! High marks indeed. I plan on buying several more pairs and sticking them under my bed so I never run out! Have used these guys backpacking with 55 pounds, and climbing mountains, all taken in stride, so to speak. Very highly recommended! It's a very light and comfortable boot. I compared this boot to several other (which is easy to do via this site) and my plan was to buy the one that fit best. For me, it was the A solo Fugitive in the wide version. Traction and stability were solid. I had no issues with hiking in them right out of the box and they are very comfortable to walk in since the combination uppers are fairly compliant and the sole isn't extremely stiff over the whole length. My only issue with the boot is durability. The upper cuff material tore in one section after only one weekend trip--presumably from a rock. Other fabric materials (like Schoeller Dynamic) would have been much better and still maintained the weight benefits. Wears this shoe: Summer backpacking and hiking Reviewer: Mr G from Australia & USA Why? Light, comfortable, I got hit by a wave while climbing around and my feet didn't get wet, good price, I don't know about that size crap... Bigger smaller wider... They fit well and I have large feet by a solo standards. The End Wears this shoe: when it rains, hiking, hiking, snow, swimming, not fit for skydiving. Reviewer: Gavin from NSW Australia and Northern Michigan They are Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice, Most comfortable hiker I've ever owned and I've owned.Enjoy! Wears this shoe: Hiking and around town in the winter Reviewer: Dan from Toronto, Canada Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked I really like the lightness of these boots as well as the support they provide. They did feel a little narrow even though I ordered the wide but as I break them in they are getting better. The comfort factor is extremely high and I have no problem wearing them all day. I was told that the gore-tex would be hot but so far I have found that these boots breathe quite well. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone interested in a mid weight hiker. Wears this shoe: Backpacking; day hiking & around town in wet weather Reviewer: Mike Hnatt from College Station, Texas Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked I like how the shoe has tight seems and fits close to the foot. It doesn't feel clunky like other hiking shoes, yet it still keeps the support. We did some hiking in the sandy areas of the southwestern states and the shoe did well with keeping grains out. It even stays fairly cool during desert hikes (compared to similar brands I have tried). It's a good looking shoe in case looks are what you count. Quality in the different parts. The only bad thing is that Asolo makes their shoes a little narrow in the toes (esp the big toe). Overall, I have tried many different kinds and will rate this pair as my favorite.
