Its hard to find patent leather sandals that look attractive, not orthopedic!These shoes can be dressed up or down and they are very comfortable.

I was extremely happy with a pair of black patent leather Elka purchased two years ago. When the model became available in brown, I purchased a pair two months ago. The leather in the new pair was stiffer than in the first pair, but did not take long to "break in." The new pair is made in Portugal instead of France. I own many comfort shoes, mostly Mephistos, Wolkys, Noats, and Eccos. By far, the Mephisto Elka is the best for comfort. I custom fit the Elka footbed by reaching under the footbed cover and tearing off some of the rubber/cork mixture with pliers so that the footbed and adjacent strap do not hurt my small toe. I have done this kind of custom fitting to other Mephisto models with a cork/rubber sole with great success.
Wears this shoe: For casual outings, in particular sightseeing.

I have an old pair of Elka in black leather and have worn them for several years. The comfort and style is especially nice for spring and summer. The patent leather dresses it up a notch and the comfort of Mephisto cannot be beat.

This is my favorite shoe. I have worn it for years.It has excellent support for an arch and is so well made it can be completely soaked with soapy water to be cleaned. I have had many complemnets on the attractive style of the shoe. I was very happy to find it in your site.

I like the shoes very much. They are very comfortable for all my daily walking, just a bit wider than I would like. The straps are a bit tight when I pull them in a notch. So, I wear them somewhat loose.

I have ridiculous feet and can rarely find a shoe that works for me in terms of fit and comfort. I got another style of Mephisto, much like Elka, and have worn them for years (resoled them several times). The Elka's were comfortable on the first wear and have only gotten better over the few weeks I've had them. I'd prefer a half size larger (they only come in full-sizes) but, even so, I'm delighted with the fit, look, and ease of slipping them on for almost any occasion.

Elka is a beautiful shoe. I especially like the black patent leather, the slightly higher heel height, and the adjustable straps at the toe as well as the instep area - two ways to adjust to fit best. My usual size is a 7.5 and the only way this shoe would work for me is because of the adjustable straps. This Mephisto shoe has comfort and style!

I bought this shoe because I have previously owned two pairs. They're without A doubt the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. I have A narrow foot, but with the adjustable straps, they fit me. I have walked all over Disney World in these shoes, and my feet are as comfortable at the end of the day as when I began. I own it in every color available..Only wish there were more to choose from!

I love this shoe! This is actually my 2nd one. I wore the first one every single day for a year, and it's just starting to wear out. Our home is built on a cement slab and we have no carpet, so our flooring has no give. My feet were literally aching at the end of the day, UNTIL I found this particular shoe! My feet no longer hurt and I'm chasing around 9 little ones all day long! Best shoe I've ever worn!
