I ordered these shoes at the end of November 2008 and as of the writing of this review August 2009 the shoes are headed to the garbage. The shoes were used as a daily business casual shoe; not given any abusive use. The heel has detached from the left shoe -- in truth, thoughout the life of the shoe, the upper started to look bad almost immediately -- and because of the soft leather never polished well. The shoes were comfortable but just did not last.

I have purchased 3 pair of brown and 1 black in this style from Shoebuy.com over the years for my husband. This style is one of the most comfortable shoes in his closet. I walk on concrete all day! I have tried all the shoes that claim they are comfortable and long lasting, and they have all failed on their claims very quickly. However, this shoe is worth the money! They are very stylish, comfortable, and made with top quality leather. I get compliments on their looks.

I found the Mayes shoes true to size but not to color. If you order the tan expect a brown pair to arrive. Overall, still pleased with my purchase.

Nice shoe, heavier than their samford model but the sole seems like it will last longer, fair trade in my book. Like the side detail just remember it does run big, buy 1/2 size smaller and save yourself the return.

My husband loves these shoes because he finds them the most comfortable shoes to work in. He has ankle problems and has a job where he is on his feet all day so a good supportive dress shoe is very important.
