Reviewer: Anonymous from Pennsylvania Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width I had the same boot for about 12 years and just wore out the sole. I will get them re-soled, but needed another pair for work right away. They fit perfectly just like my old ones, no breaking in necessary. My shoe size is typically a 6 1/2 to a 7, but was glad I could read the tag in my old shoes which was a 6. WI wuld have never gotten a size 6 if I didn't see the tag, so they seem to run about a half size larger. Great boot. It has always been reliably waterproof for me. Wears this shoe: hiking, work (landscaping) Reviewer: Lynn from Duluth, Minnesota Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt wider than marked I have had a pair of Sundowners for 15 years. I love them. I need good ankle support and these have it. The new ones are definitely larger, especially wider, than my old ones. I ordered 1/2 size smaller and debated whether to go even smaller, but I wear orthotics and also wanted room for thick socks. The new ones are cutout around the back of the ankle unlike the originals. They'll need breaking in but I don't think you could find a better boot. Wears this shoe: I wear them walking, hiking, grocery shopping, anytime I want good foot support. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Reviewer: Rachel from Washington, D.C. Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt wider than marked I had a pair of these boots for 10 years. I originally got them for hiking in Yosemite, and they climbed Mt. Katahdin, too! But mostly, I wore them every day to work (walking to public transportation) for 8 years. The old pair are still completely waterproof, but I wore the soles down at an angle so I couldn't wear them anymore. I am so happy to now have a new pair of these very warm, completely waterproof, stable, durable boots! I wouldn't wear anything else! Wears this shoe: Commuting, casual wear, hiking, whenever it's wet or cold! 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful: Reviewer: BG from Alabama Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I like these boots. Well made. Mostly comfortable. Initially the right boot was stiff and cut into my big toe when I bent my foot, but it didn't take hardly any time(hours)to break them in. I need waterproof boots with good traction for work, and I have wide feet with falling arches. As a result, I have a very hard time finding boots to fit and are comfortable enough to stand in for hours at a time. These fit the bill, so I am happy with my purchase. They are comfortable and durable. The one piece leather design means there is less stitching (places that would allow water to seep in). The only drawback is they are on the heavy side. I have been extremely pleased with the quality and the unbelievable comfort of these boots. Actually I was dreading looking for a replacement because I was sure I couldn't find these boots again after 9years. I am so pleased that they are still around. I hike all over the world in these boots: from the UK and the continent to Costa Rica andPeru. They did very well climbing small mountains in Northern New England too. They have goretex which is absolutely essential as I hike in all kinds of weather.I wear a size 6-6 1/2 AA shoe and these fit like a glove from the moment I put them on. They are so comfortable I believe because there are no seams over the toe area: no place to rub and irritate. I would highly recommend these to anyone. These boots are not warm enough for me to wear in the winters here in Michigan however I do hike in them from April-November.ENJOY!!! No break in time necessary. I know my size and can buy it on line every time and be sure it's going to feel good. It has great foot and ankle support, great traction, a comfy footbed, laces that stay tied, and is wonderfully waterproof until it gets old. I have to buy a new pair every couple of years because I put on so many hiking/climbing miles. Wears this shoe: Hiking, backpacking, and climbing mountains. Every day. .spring thru fall. Reviewer: J.C. Harris from Michigan Shoe Size: Felt true to size Shoe Width: Felt true to width I have worn this brand and model for years. They are comfortable and waterproof. As long as they are available on the market, I will keep wearing them. Wears this shoe: Hiking and walking Reviewer: Anonymous from Portland,OR Shoe Size: Felt half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to width Solid boots. Leather feels rigid. It's gonna take some time for these boots to be broken-in. And they certainly would look better broken-in too. They can give you problem if you wear them for long hikes because of their heavy weight. My husband had a pair for 15 years and they look the best when they are beat-up.
