Product Description (Women's Royal Robbins Field Guide Vest)
This vest is, 4 oz., 3-ply laundered 100% Supplex® nylon.
It has a padded neck and shoulder, a snap tab at back and is fully mesh lined.
Also has a D-ring/key clip, chest pocket with a key lanyard, and a two way center front zipper.
There are adjustable waist tabs, 13 exterior pockets and 4 interior pockets.

This runs true to size.I have not used it yet but will be taking it on a trip to Europe. I think you could get by using it for day travel without a backpack. It even has a place for a bottle of water.

The fit is very good; it fits like regular clothing would fit, not a bulky item with big pockets like some of the vests I saw in some online catalogs. The fabric is lightweight. The collar and shoulders are soft with just a little padding for comfort. It is well made with reinforced seams.My only complaint is that I'd prefer velcro on the flap pockets.I haven't worn it yet with the pockets loaded, so I can't address the weight issue. I highly recommend it.
