I bought these boots for myself and I liked them so much I bought a second pair. My previous boots were the Rocky paratrooper boot with the zipper. I liked them but had to put some gel insoles in them to ease my foot pain. I bought these and thought that I would try them without the gel insoles and OH MY GOSH! My day is so much better with these boots. From day one they were hands down better than my previous boots with the gel insoles. I recommended them to my entire squad. I usually don't write reviews due to laziness but these boots flippin rock!

Thought I would try a Side Zip boot. The Alpha was a good price so i tried it. First pair was too narrow. I did not like the Side Zip at first, due to the difficulty in getting my foot in the boot (with it laced up tight i had to pull HARD). Once on, good to go. Getting them off was easier than expected though. Now, they have adjusted (took about 2 weeks) and i can get my foot in, with a good tug. Boot is very comfortable, and was right from the start. I stand almost all day, and these boots have never hurt. The slick black finish is holding up well, and if I were to polish them, I think it would be no problem at all. Sole is VERY aggressive, but does NOT get "in the way" with movement, like I first thought they might. They do not mark either. They are waterproof, so there is no air flow through, meaning if your feet sweat, they are gonna be wet by the end of the day (really only down side of this boot), so wear wicking socks. Over all, very good boot for working in, and very comfortable.

I bought these boots for my husband. He loves 'em. He is employed as a corrections officer and said that they are very comfortable. He says that the thing he likes most about them is the "feel" - the way they fit.The only negative is that we ordered them in a Wide Width and he said that they feel narrower than they should.
