I purhcased these shoes for my son, who is a school teacher and spends a lot of time on his feet. This summer he is working as a city park ranger and the uniform requires black dress shoes. This new pair I just purchased is for the upcoming school year and the older pair is being worn as a park ranger. Both his jobs require a lot of time on his feet. He loves the comfort of these shoes. He also has the same shoes in brown which he wears at his teaching job. So he now has three pairs and loves them.Note, he normally takes a 9.5 but in these the 9 was a better fit.

This is my fourth pair. They never let me down. Roomy and strong and waterproof. They allow me to do everything from attend a semi-formal function to play a round of golf. This is a great help when traveling.

Shoe does not hold a shine no matter how much shoe polish you put on it. I know it does not supposed to have a glossy shine but it scuffs real easily. I have owned Rockports for 10 years and have been very satisfied in the past. But I would not recommend these shoes even though they wear great.
