Product Description (Men's Rockport M9000)

The M9000 is part of the Prowalker 9000 Collection. This walking shoe has a padded tongue and collar to prevent bruising, a heelcup and drilex footbed and a Vibram outsole. The Rockport Lunesdale style is no longer being manufactured and the M9000 is a great alternative.

A Big Disappointment October 22, 2009

Only in looks. There is no cushioning in the sole plate at the heel or at the ball of the foot. The sole insert is not much more than a thin paper pad compared to the Luna. The shoelaces also seem extra large. It feels like a cheap imitation of what was an excellent fitting, feeling and wearing shoe. Soon after getting my first pair of Luna's my knee and back problems disappeared. The M9000's feel like I am walking on a board. I can no longer recommend a Rockport shoe.
Wears this shoe: As little as possible as it does not have the cushioning.

This is the best walking shoe ever made. They do need to be broken in before you can speed walk to stretch the leather uppers and prevent blisters. If you are a former original ProWalker owner, I encourage you to come back to this shoe. It is the original with the leather heel support area as opposed to the M9218 that did not have it. They even have the original softer vibram sole. They can be resoled over and over before the uppers wear out. Please buy this shoe and the black one only so they will continue production. They haven't had the cordovan color in well over a decade. This is one of the best shoes for the price on the market! The only drawback I see is that they put in some extra wide shoe strings that look strange and are difficult to get out of the eyelets.
Wears this shoe: Casual outings and speed walking for exercise.
