Product Description (Men's Rockport Cooper)

The Cooper is the perfect combination between dress and casual. This sneaker inspired shoe is not only comfortable but stylish. The mesh lining provides enhanced breathability and drying. The midsole is EVA with adidas adiPRENE® highly shock-absorbent cushioning that protects the heel at impact and is resilient and flexible for a responsive, dynamic push-off. It features truWALK Architecture that provides a natural full range of foot motion, from shock absorption at heel strike to forefoot flexibility during push off. The rubber outsole has a durable grip and the molded adidas adiPRENE® in the heel provides a highly shock-absorbent cushioning.

Fit: This style tends to run narrow. If you have a wide foot, for an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size larger than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7, we recommend purchasing a size 7 1/2.

I bought this shoe to try something new. I've been wearing Rockport World Tour Classics for 15 years and have been delighted with them. The Cooper is supposed to be the next generation so I thought I'd give them a try with the new adiprene technology. The shoes are quite comfortable out of the box, pliable, and don't need much breaking in as I've generally found with most Rockports. I found the adiprene technology a bit awkward to begin with but easy to get used to.The biggest problem is that I have a wide foot. An 11W in the world tour classics is a great fit. The 11W Cooper I ordered is not even close to being the width of the same size world tour classic. It is particularly tight across the shoe in the area at the base of the tongue. It's not so noticeable when you first put on the shoes, but after wearing them for a few hours, your feet begin to feel like they have a blown up blood pressure cuff on them.I'm doubtful that a little more wearing will do much to break these in and I'm probably going to send them back and either request a different size or go back with the old world tour classics that did me no wrong.

I bought this shoe for everyday, caual wear and it seems to be a good choice. It feels true to size and was comfortable from when I first put them on. Time will tell, but they appear to be well made. At this point I would buy them again.
