I had bought brown walking shoes of this model at a shoe store where I could try on medium width - I normally require wide or extra wide. After 2 days' use the snugness went away and those brown shoes became my favorites. They look great too, not clunky -- well stitched and 'streamlined', okay for a restaurant or a show, perfect dual-use to pack for city travel. So I looked online to buy a black pair. These will be favorites for several years.

I've never had Rockports before and these were more than I expected. They're cozy, light weight and I'm confident that I can out run the zombies in these.

Shoe Size: Felt true to size
I really liked this shoe and it fit well but there was a problem with the heel and sole of the right shoe being out of alignment that caused the shoe to rock slightly, but noticably, to the side when walking. I ordered this shoe first from Amazon and then from Shoebuy thinking it was a one of a kind defect. Turned out the second pair had the same defect. Hopefully this only occurred with my size (6.5W) since the heel and sole are cast in a single mould which of course would be different for each shoe size.

The shoes are very well made and comfortable. My only negative is that it has less arch support then some and that is an issue with my high arches. Perhaps this would not be an issue for the average person. I'm at a desk most of the day, so the shoes are fine for my purposes, but when I have to be on my feet all day I'll wear another pair.

I have a wider foot than most which not only makes retail shoe store shopping difficult but also hard to find stylish shoes that fit. This Rockport offers both, and they may be the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned.
