I followed Shoebuy's advice and purchased a size larger than I normally would. Unfortunately, that was bad advice, but wasn't really known until I'd been out 3 times, which is too late for them to take them back. So, I guess I'll have to use extra thick socks or something to make up, as Shoebuy confirmed they wouldn't do anything to help the situation. The skates themselves are very nice, and assuming the socks do the trick, think I'll get years of enjoyment out of them.
