I walk about 15,000 steps per day--an hour walk plus regular daily activities. Most of my walking is on desert-type Arizona soil. Other walking/running shoes may be a little more comfortable, but were horrible about bringing the desert home with me. I purchased these shoes because of the sole and am very happy. I've had them less than a week and have walked 4 to 5 miles per day with no problems. These shoes have minimal cushioning but I wear orthotics so this is not an issue. LOVE the red color!! I'm ordering a 2nd pair today.
