WORK BOOTS

I purchased these boots for work. I have worn them for years. They are exactly the same every time. I know they run a little big, but you need to put inserts in them anyway. Once you know what insert you like you will really like these boots.

I normally wear 3E width. Red Wing apparently does not make a 3E width. The 2E width felt tight across the instep and is not a good fit for the wide foot. I have been wearing this boot for more than a year, and it still feels "tight".

Beautiful, traditional American-made workboot

This is a beautifully made, traditional American work boot. The leather is thick and of the highest quality. Seams are double or triple stitched, and the boot uses welt construction, which means that if the sole gets worn down, you can take it to a repair shop, have it removed, and a new one stitched on. While it is probably geared toward the retro coffee shop crowd, it isn't just a modern boot with a retro look. That means no cloth and foam padding inside, it needs some break-in time, and it's cut very full to accommodate a pair (or two) of heavy socks. I normally wear a 10.5 E or an 11 in an athletic shoe. A 10 wide in these boots is still a little big on my foot, even with cotton gym socks, and I was almost tempted to try out the 10 in a regular width. That's HIGHLY unusual for me.A great bonus with these boots is that they just look better with age. I wear them outside to work in the yard, wipe them off, pair them up with a pair of khakis, and they look good enough to wear going out. These boots are miles away from the Made in China crap you usually find on shoe store shelves, and people notice and compliment me on them all the time.

Great winter boot.

There is a great heritage, American look to these boots. I bought them because they look a little more broken in than the rest of the Redwing boots. When I got them I was thrilled. There is just a slightly vintage look to them and they fit well and are comfortable.

It is built like a tank. takes a few times to break in, but once it does, nice. I like the leather laces it comes with.
