This is a dressed up work shoe and should not be confused with high quality footwear. It is rather heavy and awkward but OK for use in the winter when you don't care about looks. I took a chance on this shoe because of its availability in narrow width, but I have had similar shoes by other mfrs that are much more elegant and comfortable.
Wears this shoe: When I expect rain or snow and need a semi-dress level shoe.
Comfort and style great for narrow width.

Simply stated, these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. I had never owned a pair of Red Wing shoes before I purchased these. I would not hesitate to purchase another pair. I have a narrow width and have trouble finding shoes that fit and look stylish. These shoes look great. They can be worn with a suit or with jeans. I purchased the shoes to wear at a trade show where I would be on my feet all day. That's a tough test to pass and they did so with flying colors. I felt like I had a pair of running shoes on. I hope Red Wing will make continue to make this shoe. I look forward to new styles from them.

These were my first pair of Red Wings since I was about 10 when we used to shop at the Red Wing store. I go through a new pair every three months. But I bought these Red Wing Bretts almost a year ago and they look great. They have held up much better than any other business casual shoe I have ever bought. The only problem this is the only decent looking shoe they make. I'd love to buy more styles, but there are none that look good and are appropriate for modern business casual (dressy).
