Product Description (Women's P.W. Minor Leisure Double Strap)

The Canfield Collection features casual shoes with great support perfect for a wide range of activities. The comfortable Leisure Double Strap provides a great fit and a number of features for maximum comfort. It features a form fitting pillow back, a foam padded collar and tongue and a modifiable polyurethane outsole. The shoe's double hook-and-loop straps with D-ring and lock stitch assist in easy on and off. A soft polyester suede and breathable foam lining has useful wicking action. Leisure Double Strap has a 1/2 inch heel with a firm heel counter. The shoe features additional depth to accommodate custom orthotics and a permanent insole with Poron foam along the heel and metatarsal strike zones. This style has been approved for Medicare billing code A5500.

Past experience was with the Classic Lace-Up which was perfect.I use an orthotic which was accommodated very well with the 6 3E lace-up. However, the Double Strap is cut higher on the area above ankle bone and the tongue comes up higher on the ankle. With my smaller-sized foot, these differences make the shoe less than desirable. I have returned it. Perhaps someone with a larger foot would not notice these differences.

With feet like mine, that are almost wider than they are long, it is wonderful to find a wide, wide shoe that comes in sizes less than a 7. Plus they have removable inserts that allow me to use my custom orthos. This is my third pair of this brand/model and I wear them continuously until they almost fall apart.

My mother has trouble finding shoes that fit her. These shoes are comfortable, easy to put on and take off, and she didn't have a "breaking in" period.

This shoe is very well made and the double wide 11 1/2 shoe I ordered was true to size. For those having a high instep, the top of the shoe tongue may press down rather uncomfortably on the top of the foot as the upper sole of the foot bends in walking. I feel the shoe could offer more cushioned walking comfort than it does, also.
