Love these shoes - know your European size

These shoes are gorgeous, very well-made and comfortable right out of the box. The trick is knowing your accurate European size. I am a US size 8, and my European size is always 39, which is what I ordered in these shoes (I don't understand why it says 39 = 8.5/9 because it is not true!). I also wear 39 in Birkenstocks and Josef Seibel. The 39 fits perfectly. They have just a little western look to them, and the oxford styling is trendy. They look great with skinny jeans, and also with dressy pants and skirts. The heel height is just right - classy looking while still being extremely comfortable. I received many compliments at work this week! Wish they cost less, but other than that, am very happy with this purchase.

I've been trying to find the perfect everyday brown boot with buckles but not TOO many buckles. I was goimg to get the Frye Veronica slouch but I don't usually like slouchy boots and they look so good as-is in the pictures. Then I saw these and figure if I'm going slouchy at least it'll look that way from the start. I am trying to lose pregnancy weight so some fit things are off for me but my foot size didn't change really, but my overall weight did affect my calves. I bought a pair of boots recently that just fit in the calves but my usual size 8 fit in the foot.I got these in the 38, usually my Euro size. The leather isn't the creamy soft leather I was expecting. It was more worn looking/feeling with lighter areas on some folds. it still looked good-just not what I was expecting. they were tricky to get on even with the zipper (over skinny jeans) and I had to let the top buckle out one notch. They were just too small for me to keep them. Even though I wanted to! The plastic cap on the heel needs replacing though- that was slippery!

The boot is stylish and of medium comfort. I take a 41 in Pikolinos normally and ordered a 42 to assure a reasonable fit. The toe is more tapered than some of their basic styles. A keeper.

I originally bought these a half size bigger because it was all the store had. When I saw these online I grabbed at them and wore them till it got too cold. They're so comfortable and look great and I can walk for hours in them. Have subsequently bought Pikolinos boots and shoes. My feet are not my best feature and these all feel great.
