I really liked this bag because it complements my fiance's diabetic supplies well. His insulin as well as his wallet fit perfectly in this bag. Though I thought the cell phone side looked a little dorky, he adored it and stores his phone there.

I've been carrying a man's handbag for more than twenty years, as I do not like anything in my pockets other than my folded paper money. The Piel 2290, is by far one of the finest bags I've owned. The quality of the leather is excellent, and the design of the bag will fit all your needs. The items that you use every day (license, credit cards, etc.)I put in a card holder and keep in the large locking flap pocket on the back side of the bag so there is no need to open the zippered part every time I need to use them. I would recommend this item to anyone who carries a bag.

Not well designed for real world utility

I need time to "break in" this bag before I can assure you that this is a fair evaluation. The one it is replacing was somewhat smaller, made of soft leather and was made by a different manufacturer and lasted many years. I wanted, but could not find, an exact replacement. This one was the closest I could find today.I would rather that this one was made of a soft leather too, because the stiffness of the leather on this one makes it difficult and more time consuming to move the zippers, reguiring that both hands get heavily involved with the process. Lines will form behind you as you struggle with it at the checkout counter. There is no good place to put change. The spaces are too small to hold my wallet or credit card folder (and certainly not both). I have had to place only my main cards in this bag and leave some at home and where the cards are placed in the bag makes it cumbersome to remove them (I have to angle the cards in so that I can more easily retrieve them.). It is constructed well and looks nice. But funtionally, it does not fit my life style. And I doubt it fits anyone else's style easily either. The dimensions are larger than the one it replaces, yet it holds far less. I hope that I find it easier to use as it breaks in and I get used to it. But I will still have to change my lifestyle to accommodate the bag.
