I bought this jacket in black because I couldn't find a color in my size and wanted it for a trip. Loved it enough that I started looking for another in a fun color. I bought the orange one and really like it. It is great because it weights absolutely nothing and it's easy to just stuff it in a backpack or anything when you don't need it. I took off one star because I noticed one of the little quilted sections doesn't have the proper "fill", so it ends up looking like a dirty spot. Very small complaint, but this jacket was priced about $25 less than retail, so I'm still delighted to have it - dirty spot and all

Great jacket! The color is fantastic and makes me easy to find in a crowd :) I love the warmth of this light weight jacket that I can just stuff in bag and have it ready for a change in temperature. The sleeves are just the perfect length. I have one in bright red as well.

On a 27-degree morning, with winds between 10-15 mph, I wore nothing but the jacket, a Patagonia micro d-luxe fleece shirt, and a t-shirt - I feared I was going to be cold, but I was amazingly fine walking to work (a long-sleeved T would have sealed the deal!). I could feel the wind blowing through my jeans but the jacket was great. I am 5-1, 123 lbs and bought a medium. Usually every Patagonia clothing is too long on me, but this jacket provides a good fit and room for layering. The sleeves have some sort of binding at the wrist that prevents wind from entering, and the length is not ridiculously long. Pockets are a plus, and when I stuffed the jacket in the front-zip pocket, it came out to be the size of a medium cantaloupe. A major plus is this jacket has a stylish diamond pattern, which does not elongate me sideways as my down jackets do (why horizontal stripes? Why?)If criticism is a must, a concern would be the synthetic fibers coming out of the fabric (noticed some loose strands), but that happens with down, too. The jacket is so light and thin that I'm also careful not to do anything to tear it (though I've done that with my down). All in all, this jacket has certainly exceeded expectations. Compared with the R-4, I think my R-4 provides a slight edge in warmth, but then I've only had this jacket for a week for comparison purposes - and I am very lucky to have both so I can interchange this winter. I'm VERY happy with the jacket.
