I had been looking for a shoe like this to replace a pair I purchased before going on vacation a few years ago...something sporty with a molded rubber sole. I was so happy to find this shoe that I bought it in both the black/gray and the blue/gray. I couldn't decide which size I needed...my right foot is a little bigger than my left...so I bought the blue ones in an 8 and the black in an 8.5. The black ones feel a little better on my right foot, but I need to tighten the strap so much on the left shoe that the strap is actually too long; it needs to be shortened by a shoe repairman so it can be adjusted properly.
Wears this shoe: Casual with pants...maybe with just the right skirt.

I actually buy these for my Mom. She finds them to be very comfortable and easy to put on and take off. The closure is easy for her. The only complaint we have is the limited choice of colors. I would buy her more pairs if the color selection was better.

This was my first Birkenstock purchase. I needed to find sandals that would be comfortable walking in all day, but nice enough to be appropriate for work. (I'm a teacher in a hot climate.) A few co-workers recommended these to me, so I decided to try them out. I wondered about the part that goes in between the toes, based on some reviews here, and almost backed out of selecting these because of it. However, while it is a bit thicker than other flip-flops and felt a little weird until I got used to it, they didn't hurt at all. The sizing was perfect; I wear a 10 (U.S.) and the 41 fits beautifully. I wouldn't size down unless you like your toes and heel to reach right up to the edge of the shoe. The footbed started to mold right away, and is extremely comfortable. The soles stained some during the first wear, but I expected that to happen with the material. I know you can't wear these with socks, but if you're unsure whether you like these, be careful since they won't look new after long. I walk around in these for miles at a time around the city, and all day at work, and they haven't caused any blistering or discomfort. I'm very happy with these sandals. :)

I was looking for a nice comfortable shoe for the summer. I love how nice it fit me being flat footed and having wide feet did have its set backs but over all the shoe is great, comfy, and reliable. It should be long lasting.
Wears this shoe: Durring the summer. Like when I go to the river or camping.
