I ordered these shoes because I wanted a supportive, comfortable pair of black shoes for my job. I am on my feet a lot when I work. The shoes required very little breaking in and are providing good support. Also seems to be good on ice,we had light snow recently and because I am very wary about walking on snow or ice, this was another reason I bought them. I am satisfied with them.

Beautiful? No. Perfectly comfortable? Yes. Bought these hoping they would be right. Standing on concrete for 4+ hours is very stressful; even walking around was awful. These shoes, with my personal support inserts was the answer. My feet and back love them

Spring Step Amsterdam
Heel too high
November 10, 2012
Reviewer: Wendy from Larchmont, NY
Most people want softness and flexibility in a walking shoe. But I bought the Amsterdam for its rigid sole, because I have arthritis in my big toe, and doctors have told me that rigidity would prevent the daily stress and pain from flexing while walking. The sole is doing just what I expected, keeping my toe from bending and greatly alleviating my foot pain. HOWEVER, the heel is way too high, and as a previous poster said, it causes the foot to slide forward, which puts my back out of alignment. Now my back hurts! I've tried putting toe pads under the forefoot, to no avail. I do wish Spring Step would make this shoe flatter. If they ever do, I hope they let me know, because they are almost perfect for me, otherwise.

Disappointed

I bought these shoes to use as walking shoes, and wore them for about 30 minutes and had to take them off. I bought 1/2 size larger than my normal size but the tops of my toes were crushed. I now have shoes that have been worn once and cannot be worn again.

Uncomfortable
September 17, 2012
Reviewer: Alexa A from California
I've had these shoes for a few months and I've only wore them a total of 5 times, because they are very uncomfortable. They're too tight on my feet when I walk, and they've given the back of my ankles blisters. I would actually like to exchange them for a different pair of shoes, but it's been passed 60 days.
