I am a high school science teacher which involves long hours standing on hard floors. I developed plantar fasciitis, and was looking to find shoes that would help relieve the condition. Science teachers also need shoes with covered-in heels and toes, made from leather, for workplace safety rules, so I was hoping that shoes designed for nurses would fit the bill.These Marianda Nurse Mates shoes are very comfortable, the pillow top insole and arch support are perfect. My Orthaheel orthotics fit over the top if needed, although this does make the heel cup a little shallow, but because there is a strap across the instep they stay on fine. I have been able to wear them straight away, with little to no 'breaking in'. The soles are great - non slip, and there is a low heel, they are not too flat. The style is suited to wearing with dresses, skirts and pants and can be dressed up or down. The instep strap is possibly a little wide, style wise, but I'm sure it improves the comfort and fit.I have big feet of average width generally wear a 9.5 size shoe (eg from Lands End), and I used the shoebuy chart to size these. I was closer to the 10 in Nurse Mates than 9.5, and opted for the 10 because of the orthotic taking up a little space. They are perfect with and without the extra insole.Highly recommended, I am planning to purchase the coffee colour too, as I now have it in another style.

I have been purchasing this shoe for years. They work great for me they are light weight & are great for many hours of wearing & so comfortable. I will be buying another pair as soon as the funds are available. They look good with anything attire.
