This is a grain leather that has been slightly brushed on the surface to create a very fine velvet-like appearance. The texture of nubuck is finer than suede.

Having big feet (Size 14), it has always been a problem to find a shoe that is not only fits and is comfortable, but also looks good. This Rockport World Tour Classic shoe is the best. Since a good shoe like this is had to find,I plan on buying another pair - or two.

I bought this hiking boot because it was "made in the USA." One of the reviewers mentioned that the boot is a little tight, with a need to break them in. I agree; it is a little tight, but I have begun getting a better fit. I wear it now when I walk the dog to break them in. In a few weeks, I will be using them for my main purpose - hiking. I will have a better idea how they fit and hold up after hiking in a couple of national parks.

My only complaint is about the insoles being very hard on the feet so I added cushioned insoles right on top of the insoles.Problem solved and much more comfortable.Also these boots don't easily scuff.Leather must be dyed all the way through.
