I bought a pair of New Balance Shoes in wide width. I usually have trouble finding athletic shoes in a wide width. These shoes are so comfortable that I wear them almost every day. The width of them keeps my feet comfortable and not crushed together. I would recommend them to anyone that has a wide foot.

These are shoes I can actually wear all day long. In comfort! My feet are really messed up, both naturally (collapsed arches, enlarging 'big' toe) and as a result of multiple surgeries (fused joints, bony projections). I use a 'massaging gel' insole which helps, especially with the arches. There's plenty of room in the toe box, as it's visibly higher than is usually seen. The shoe seems to cradle all my sore pressure points comfortably, and I've stopped forming calluses on them.
