Typically excellent New Balance quality and fit. Very comfortable from the start; just a great shoe for vigorous walking and casual wear. Great price too!

I bought this shoe to replace my 608's that have been discontinued. The new shoes felt too wide, too large and actually hurt my feet the first few times I wore them. This is probably the last pair of New Balance shoes I will be buying.

I bought a pair of black and they were perfect on size and width.. then I bought a pair of white (the same size) and they were much narrower than the first pair... I have a shoe stretcher so I just stretched them out and they are ok.. still a little tight but they will break in in a few weeks.. months...I am back to buy another pair of the black.. old ones are wearing out.. about 2 years..

Quality looks good but the 4E was not comparable to other brands that offer footwear to those who need the width. I could barely get my foot into the shoe. Have returned them and purchased another pair from a New Balance competitor (they were true to width).
Well built shoe

I think in some ways, how well-built it is has been a draw back. I still don't feel as if I have "broken in" the shoe, so comfort has not been optimal. On the other hand, I want a shoe that's going to last; plus, I have pronation issues and I'm hoping that this shoe will maintain its stability and not become a "leaner" too quickly.
