Generally when a new model shoe comes out, replacing the older model, it is a better designed shoe overall, but this isn't the case with the MX1008. I am not sure what New Balance was thinking when they designed it, but it was obvious, after trying this shoe on, they were not thinking about comfort or stability. Sure, the design is nice, I actually prefer it over the MX1007 model it replaces, but that's about it. Qualitywise, in my opinion, the MX1008 is a huge step backwards. When I placed my foot in it, I was amazed how there was no support, as well as no cushioning at all. This was the most flat-footed shoe I had ever tried on and once my feet were in it, they felt like my knees were about to buckle inward. Personally, if you can find the MX1007 anywhere, buy it instead.
