The NB MW966 is a great light-weight hiking shoe, and the color and style lends it to be worn for any casual use. I recommend getting a half size larger that what you normally wear. I had the prior version (MW965)which was quite similar. I ordered the "true to size" fit and quickly found out that they were just a little too short.

Wow! The New Balance MW966 are comfortable, waterproof shoes that fit well and feel good on my feet. It is hard not to wear them all the time. I don't want them to ever wear out. Of course when they do wear out, I expect New Balance to still be making these great walking, running and overall very comfortable casual shoes. I recommend them very highly and will purchase them again when these type shoes are needed.Joel

I walk all day for my job and was lloking for a waterproof shoe to wear year round in the rain and snow. These feel like regular athletic walking shoes.

I use the shoe for longer walks, 5+ miles, it's quite comfortable. Out of the box I suggest leaving the ties a little looser around mid-lace as there appears to be a ridge under the tongue running transverse to the direction of the shoe.
