I have been wearing New Balance for over twenty years, and I don't see any need to ever wear anything else. They will never let you down.

Nice Alternative Shoe/Sneaker

The main reasons for choosing this particular shoe are availability in width (4E/very wide), waterproof & style. This shoe is a nice alternative to a regular sneaker as it is more supportive, very comfortable, stylish and waterproof. It is lightweight, yet seems fairly rugged. The cushioning is great for all day walking comfort. I wear it to coach High School Golf, at the driving range, casually, and occasionally for work. The fact that it is nicely styled, and leather, makes for a great appearance. I'm very pleased with the shoe.

Far better than the LLBean

I bought them wider so as to wear hiking socks. The support and lacing makes them far more comfortable than the gum-soled Bean shoes, and the traction on the soles are far superior. They look better too. I recommend them for foul weather and snow and ice conditions on streets and level terrain. I do not consider it a trail shoe for hilly terrain or rocky scambles. One should have a higher shoe with more ankle support for that type of hiking.
Wears this shoe: Rainym snowy and icey days.
