The first pair I bought was a size 7 4E. After he grew out of those, I bought his a second pair. This second pair is a size 8 4E. I tried the new and the old myself. Both offer excellent cushioning. My son, who is twelve years old, likes the velcro in particular.

This is one of the few shoes that I have ever found that doesn't hurt the bunion on my left foot. The 4E width makes it my perfect choice. I keep a few extra pairs of this shoe in the closet, just in cast they stop making it.

The shoes were bought for my son, who wears the pair to school. He prefers the strips on the shoes over the more common shoelaces. He likes the pair and said they are very comfortable. New Balance makes a lot of Width 4E (for wide feet), which are what we ordered.

I like this shoe very much. It is great to find a comfortable and sturdy shoe with the Velcro closures. It does seem a bit wider that I would like so I added innersoles.
