New Balance Mens Snow Boots
By csk, from Salt Lake City, UT | December 17, 2013
I've been wearing New Balance for years, but I have wide feet. Their 4E used to fit perfect, but now I find I can only fit into 6E. I ordered these in 4E as they don't have a 6E. I spent a week stretching them in various ways, they still don't fit perfectly, but I can wear them. If you are a 4E, you probably should find a different boot.

The MO 1099 is difficult to get on
By John, from Hurricane, WV | March 27, 2013
I find the MO 1099 difficult to get on because where the opening at the top of the shoe is too tight for my instep to fit through easily. Once you struggle to get it on if feels alright around the foot. The size and width are OK but if you tie the ankle laces tight the shoe hurts my ankle. I tried to tie them looser and it seems to work better for me. They seem to be well made but a lot of work to get on. I've not tried them in the woods yet.

Best winter boots I have ever had, light and warm like a down coat. Can imagine they will be too warm in the spring.

How do I get my foot into this shoe?
By Bob, from Torrance, CA | January 11, 2013
I purchased this shoe to see if the toe box was larger than the Propet hiking shoes. It wasn't, but the worst part of this shoe is that the tongue is attached so high up on the sides of the shoe that it is nearly impossible with some one with a size 11 4E/5E foot to even put the shoe on. It was also hard to get my custom orthotic into the sjhoe and impossible to get my foot in with the orthotic in place in the shoe. The one time I got my foot into the shoe the toe box seemed smaller or more restrictive than a other 4E shoes I own by New Balance.
