I purchased the New Balance 1003 about 3 months ago and have been dissatisfied with the fit (felt too large) and comfort (weird lacing system) of the shoe. I needed a solid court shoe with good traction, excellent fit and durability. This is the shoe!! My 12 4E feet are hard to fit, but this shoe fits like a glove.

I'd recommend you try NewBalance shoes for fit and quality but if you have WIDE feet, you'll only wear these.I was told by an Ortho to buy NB level 800 and up tennis shoes as they have the quality construction and support needed , i.e, it won't be same support features in 600 series shoes and lower. So I wear 800s or 1000 series when I find them on sale and love the feel and fit.

Good shoe

The shoe is heavier than I expected and does not breathe as well as I expected - possibly because I had previously been wearing a running shoe. Feels great for tennis so far - great traction and shock absorption.

Hoped to find a shoe that stood up to daily high school tennis practice. Wanted a shoe that was wide.

I've never had a problem with new balance shoes. They are very well constructed.
