My son wanted tie shoes, he needed sturdy, wide shoes, and he wanted "cool" shoes. These fit the bill. I don't hear any complaints about wearing them, as I have with others, so they must be comfortable.

Normally, I am always extremely happy with New Balance sneakers for my 5 year old son. He has had this pair for exactly 1 month and the front part over his toes his already ripped. Will not buy again. They are not durable enough for a kid.
