I recently purchased these shoes for my son. I chose a wide width because although his foot seems to be long and narrow, that wasn't the case. His foot is wider than appears. When he got these shoes and wore them to school (we walk everyday, to and from school) he loved them. He said they are very comfortable and his feet didn't hurt anymore. He also said that when these shoes no longer fit, he would love another pair. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Well worth the money.

My 4-year old needed shoes and I never bought him a pair of decent shoes yet, so I didn't know what size to get. I guessed right on the size but got a regular width. When we got the shoes, they were definitely too narrow. So I sent those back, and ordered right away another pair 1/2 size bigger and the wide width. Bingo!! Perfect fit!

My 6 year old daughter has extremely narrow feet and it is very difficult to find shoes--especially tennis shoes that fit her feet comfortably. The New Balance, although marked medium, run more narrow than other brands of tennis shoes. They often tend to run about a 1/2 size larger to fit. Once you are able to gage the size the tennis shoes are a good fit. The velcro closing is also a plus for children.
