A supportive basketball shoe for the official who demands long wearing comfort. ABZORB® forefoot and insert gives exceptional shock absorption. ABZORB®EX heel provides superior cushioning and stability. The Stability Web® gives superior support in the midfoot while reducing the overall weight. The herringbone outsole pattern allows for increased traction for lateral motion. The ETC® insert reduces friction, heat build up and blisters. Features Dri-Lex® lining for moisture management.

Fit: This style tends to run large. For an accurate fit we recommend purchasing a 1/2 size smaller than you typically purchase. For example, if you normally purchase a size 7 1/2, we recommend purchasing a size 7.

I have a few pairs of NB running shoes and have been very satisfied with them. But not this pair of basketball shoes. I have wide feet so I bought the wide version. Firstly, I find that my foot is moving around too much inside the shoe, unlike my running shoes which hug like a glove. I had to put on really thick socks, and even that didn't do the trick. Secondly, there is absolutely no heel support. After walking in them for a short while, I can feel a burning sensation, very much like rubbing my skin against sand paper. Thirdly, there is absolutely NO arch support. In addition, there are some defects; I can see the upper layers separating from each other on the top edge the day that I received them. This has to be the worst pair of shoes I've bought in a while. I will stick to buying only running shoes if it's NB.

The leather is a bit stiff and you need to break in this shoe, but it is a classic design, well constructed and looks great.
Wears this shoe: With my shorts. It's a dressy high top black sneaker.

This is a truly great shoe for me as a basketball official. One, it has a shine to the toe area, two, it has excellent cushioning in the heel and great forefoot flexibility. It laces snugly with a unique lacing system that is very comfortable across the instep. The grid pattern on the sole provides excellent control on the court, especially stopping and pivoting. This is the second pair of this model that I have worn and although NB has changed the outside look it was for the better while retaining the outstanding performance features.

These basketball shoes fit perfectly and have awesome grip on a wood basketball court. What a joy to find a W-I-D-E high-top basketball shoe! My only question was, right out of the box: WHY? Why are they shiny? The leather looks like a regular leather shoe (not patent leather) that has been polished to glossy. Also, WHY did they stamp the model number "888" into the toe of the shoe? It just looks strange at first, but I got used to it. I wouldn't trade these shoes for any other. Value, fit, performance - it's all there.
