These are very well made shoes, and they look nice. They seem to be a size larger than most size 5 shoes. I bought these for my daughter who has really short, very thick and very wide feet. The deep toe box is indeed very nice. However she still needs even wider shoes, as these hurt her feet, mainly along the insole where the bottom of her feet run over the edge of the insole, causing her pain. They are stiff, so we're hoping with some wear they will soften and mold more to her feet. If we could get these in a 14E and size 4, we'd try another pair, as they look so nice. It makes a nice dress shoe, but not for long periods of wear with feet that swell or are normally painful, as this shoe has no give and is stiff. It has good support if that's the intended use. I would recommend this shoe as a standard dress shoe for fairly normal feet, that aren't overly wide - I consider these an extra extra wide and triple deep, firm shoe that is not recommended for already painful, sensitive, or swelling feet.
Wears this shoe: Dress up only - wear short periods of time.

This pair of shoes was purchased for my 77 year old mother, who work full time in a dept. store. She needed work shoes with good support, yet could be worn with dress clothes. When she got the shoes, she said that they were too short. She exchanged them for another pair 1/2 size larger. She says that the shoes are comfortable and meet her needs.

I ordered these shoes for my mom who is 80 years old. We live in different states, so my feedback comes from my step dad. The only negative comment was that the soles made black marks on the floor; otherwise they were fine.
