This trail running shoe features a light and hydrophobic mesh upper with a gusseted tongue to keep dirt out and your feet cool, a webbing and strap closure system for a custom fit and comfort, a gusseted tongue for keeping out dirt and moisture, triple-density Vapor Response™ EVA midsole with Trail Shield™ protection and mid-foot support. Also has a full foot Trail Shield™ system for under foot protection from rocks and trail debris, and a Gryptonite™ (a sticky rubber compound for optimal performance on wet and dry surfaces)outsole for traction and durability.

I bought this shoe for casual wear and was very pleased when I firs put them on. They were very light and fit my foot well in my size and felt very comfortable. I like the look -- sporty but not gaudy.Unfortunately, they are not comfortable for walking. The tread is deep and the inner sole is thin, so you feel the tread. It is a little like walking with wrinkles in your sox. After a few hours, your feet just hurt. They have little support forward to back or side to side. They would be the last shoe I would choose for out of doors hiking, but for hiking to starbux they are hard to beat.

No break-in period needed here, good to go right out of the box. Grips like crazy, I don't go off-rode so unaware of performance on rough trails, I am a sidewalk hiker. I needed to loosen the laces a bit, they can be a bit too snug if over pulled. Now they are perfect. Cool look to these puppies too. Better than running shoes for racking up miles walking if you ask me.
