Having lived in Oklahoma for many years, I was used to being able to find these moccasins almost anywhere. I've been in Tennessee now for 21 years and had been restocking on "mocs" during visits back to Ok. It's been 2 years between trips so my last pair were well worn. Having found this site has made it so much easier for me. Same great quality I've always had.

There is nothing that I do not like. The suede is sooo soft--I just love it. I had been looking for this moccasin and am so happy that I finally found it. I haven't actually worn them yet as I am in Texas and it has been too hot. I am moving back to Colorado and that is where I will really enjoy them with some warm socks!! Can't wait!

I have been wearing this style for about 25 years as my primary shoe. It's very comfortable and feels like you are barefoot or in socks. It's wider than most shoes, so it's an easy fit for folks with wider feet. The black ones tend to run narrower than the dark brown or tan ones, so if you have particularly wide feet avoid the black ones. These are SOFT SOLE moccasins, which you may not realize from the pictures if you haven't seen a pair in person. Minnetonka also makes a hard sole version. The hard sole ones are narrower than the soft sole ones. They dye will run when wet and get on socks or feet, so be wary of stomping in puddles unless you want colored feet or socks. This is more noticeable from the darker color shoes. These are long wearing and durable. I typically wear through a pair in a year with daily use. They can be resoled if you are so inclined. I've only had ONE pair of defective ones (leather tore) in the 25-ish years I've been wearing this brand and style. If you are not into fringe, it can easily be cut off without affecting the wearability of the shoe. This can also make it a more passable shoe for reenacting.

The dye runs onto skin and turns the foot black. There is no support, but I wear them on the streets of NYC anyway. This shoe is more about fashion than function.
