Merrell Wilderness
Hiker

I have had this shoe for a year. It still is not broken in. The leather is very stiff and uncomfortable. The shoe is built well but not the best for hiking and I am a experienced hiker. The leather does not flex enough and rubs around the ankles. The shoes cannot be laced tight around the ankles to keep debris from getting in. The leather is just too stiff. I am very disappointed.

The boot fits great, is very comfortable, and looks good too. But they do not breath! My feet never sweat in shoes or boots, but they did in this pair. Other than not breathing they are very comfortable. Just as all Merrell's.

Merrell Shiver Boot Waterproof
Long and narrow feet with osteoarthritis

I have a hard time getting shoes to fit with a 12.5, A- size foot. These Merrill's, like other Merrill's fit the bill, consistently. After the good fit, style and comfort are the goals.. Again, these boots deliver style and comfort! Plus, the price is a real value -classy w/o spending $250. FWIW, they are in the same row with mynew UGGS (which are also great boots if you want the heavier furrylining for cushy warmth; each is top notch, IMHO; then come theothers - which take extra orthodics to work for my likes.Try 'em for outdoor use primarily - great traction and comfort!
Wears this shoe: Outside for walks and exercise on loose terrain; not much indoors.

Nice boots! Have an out of production pair of Merril boots that have served me well for four years. I live in the Mountains of Idaho and good boots have to be part of my gear.I researched boots on line for a good while and am very happy to find everything in the descripton from Merrill to be true. Got them last week just in time for the first snow. Happy.
