Doesnt stand up to trail work
By Gabe, from Ashland, OR | July 03, 2012
I work in southwest Oregon's Wilderness Areas during multi day trips working on trails. This boot lasted less than 30 days total on the trail.

4th pair of Sawtooth that Ive owned
By Joe, from Olympia, WA | June 24, 2012
I found the Sawtooth a few years ago, and I have stuck with it, through my 4th pair. Have always liked Merrell shoes, and I needed a sturdy boot that I could wear in the summer, and mild winters. My work was taking me to El Paso, TX , and Albuquerque, NM at the time. I really like the Sawtooth because it is very rugged with a stiff sole, and very light for a boot. No fatigue when wearing them all day. They are not waterproof, but I've got snow boots for that. The Sawtooth fits the bill for me for the rest of the time.

Federal Task Force
By Paul C, from Albuqueruque, NM | May 16, 2012
I used to use Danner and the sole wore out too fast and the boots were too clumsy. The heel and the toe was too wide. The Sawtooth have great soles and the toes are narrow. They look sharp too!

Awesome Backpacking Boot
By philhiker, from Baltimore, MD | August 10, 2011
I bought this boot because it does not have waterproofing, needing a cooler boot that breathes. The high cut and stiff sole are very supportive on bad footing without being overly stiff like hardcore backpacking boots. No break-in needed. The lacing system is good, allowing different levels of tightness over the foot up to the ankle. Did a 19 mile hike in Shenandoah Natl Park with 30 lb pack on very rocky terrain and poor footing, with a steep 1,400 ft descent and 2 mile ascent. Support and traction was excellent with good room in the toe box. I used an insert for more comfort, but with a thick sock the boot is probably fine stock. Boots took a beating and show no wear. Boots breath great in humid 80+ temps. Love this boot and highly recommend it. Great value for price.

First Merrell Disapointment!
By Robert, June 23, 2011
I have buying Merrell boots for the last 10 years and the insoles are too thin and the soles are extremely stiff. The upper lace eyelets are so sharp that the laces have been replaced 4 times in 6 months.

Best hiking boot ever!
By Hargobind S, from Los Angeles, CA | March 15, 2011
This is my third pair of this boot. I've had my first pair for over 4 years, the seams are coming apart but I still wear them!
