I used to suffer from shin splints a lot when I ran, so I did some research and figured a "barefoot" shoe might be the way to go. I have been running with these Road Gloves for a couple weeks now and so far I love them. The thin sole changes the impact point on my feet when I run and makes running feel a lot more natural and comfortable. The shoes are so light that it almost feels like I have nothing on my feet. I instantly was able to run about 25% longer than I could before and running has become a lot more enjoyable. This is my first pair of "barefoot" shoes, so I will probably try a different brand next for comparison, but these were a great way to break into the barefoot running world. My only issue was that no size was a perfect fit for me. Size 12 was far too big, however size 11.5 is just slightly too small. I read some bad things about the high arches before I bought these, and while they are noticable at first, they never bothered me or even caught my attention while running. Overall, these are eons better than my last pair, which was a high-end brand that was prescribed to me by my local speciality running shoe store. The road gloves absolutely blow those away and so far I have been totally injury-free, even though I have significantly incrased my mileage. As a former skeptic, I can tell all other skeptics out there: barefoot shoes are definitely the way to go. Do yourself a favor and get some.
