Hike 3 or 4 days a week with them.No break in needed and pretty comfortable so far.I just hose them off after each hike and they look like new again.

I do a lot of extreme hiking and needed a good pair of boots, and after much debate I settled on these. I'm happy I did. My feet are as snug as a bug in a rug in them, especially at the ankles where I really need support. These boots are great for scrambling over boulders and going up rocky paths. I once read a review that the traction was like glue, and I would agree with that comment. I'm even able to use the traction for toe support when doing a bit of light vertical climbing. The waterproof element is a good comfort when hiking along muddy trails. If all sorts of mountain hiking is in your plans, I would highly recommend these boots.

3rd Pair of Merrells

This is the third pair of Radius Mids I've purchased. I've loved this lightweight but sturdy boot for climbing the highest peaks in Colorado. This model doesn't require breaking in, and I'm particularly impressed with the Vibram soles that still allow a fairly sensitive feel of the terrain but will uphold seasons longer than the previous models with the softer sole. I've had no trouble with the lacing or any other component. At this point I plan on buying another pair of these Merrells when/if these wear out.

I had a pair of Merrill Radius low cuts that I loved and went right to the mid boot when I needed something more wintery. Love the sole and soft walking qualities. Not as agile as the low cut but that's to be expected. The fit was a half size larger than the low cut. Highly recommended.
