Out of the box these boots looked like rain boots, stiff and shiny. But after a few wears they are soft and no longer look like rain boots. I have several pairs of Merrell shoes and was expecting these boots to have more of a cushy sole. Not the case, the foot bed is thinner than most Merrells and the hidden heel negates the arch support but they are still much more comfortable than any of the leather soled boots I tried.

These boots were unbelievably comfortable. I really wanted to like them. I thought they would be cutier or funkier. However, when I put them on, I looked like I should be mucking out a stall! If you are looking for a comfortable, supportive boot, these are great. If you are looking for a some style, this may not be the right choice for you. I am returning these boots. I just received the Merrell Tetra boots in Cherry Brown and they are MUCH more stylish.

These boots have confirmed that I have two different-sized feet. The right boot feels a little small (even with thin socks) but the left one is just fine! Like some other Merrell shoes I have, the toes feel "creaky" right under the ball of my foot. This just takes some breaking-in, and then it's fine.I like that the tops of these boots are wide enough that I can stuff my pants inside them if it's wet out. I haven't tried these boots in a puddle yet - I'm curious to see just how waterproof they are!

Have been looking for boots to wear during cold months but had a hard time finding a more "fitted" looking boot that actually fit my calf. I love my merril sandals and the boots are even better!
