Think of this as a slightly migrated Mary Jane, with a buckled strap that wraps over the instep of a full grain leather upper trimmed with pigskin leather. Merrell Air Cushion® with Q-Form™ alignment makes for a continuously comfortable and efficient stride. Plaza™ sole has restrained but effective Octogrip™ lugs for long days afoot, from city to country.
Board lasted construction. Full grain leather and pigskin leather upper. Pigskin leather and breathable mesh lining.
Pigskin heel lining.
Injection molded TPU arch bridge. 4.5mm anatomical antimicrobial Cita-XY™ Aegis™ footbed. Nylon 6.6 injection molded arch shank. Q-Form™ triple density In-Board™ compression molded EVA footbed. Air Cushion® midsole. Merrell Plaza™ sole/sticky rubber.

I bought these shoes to wear on a trip to Italy. The shoes were dressy enough, yet still comfortable for lots of walking. I did have some rubbing on my instep after a lot of trekking around. The straps were a bit cumbersome at the airport security and when my feet started to swell after a long plane ride. Overall, though, these are comfortable, stylish walking shoes with a low heel. I'd recommend them for travel.

Great shoes to go with capris or pants. I am a teacher and need comfortable shoes. This is my first pair of the Merrell brand and I plan on purchasing more. I can not tolerate heels because of my wobbly ankles but these felt stable. My only problem that I had with the MJ was that my heel rubbed the first day. I went with some gel heel liners and problem solved.

I have several different styles of Merrell shoes, but I have found these to be THE MOST comfortable & stylishly versatile. These can go with anything from office slacks to weekend capris & you'll look stylish either way. I've gotten MANY compliments on these. As for comfort, I have A LOT of problems with my feet, to include 3 neuromas, and these are the ONLY shoes that were comfortable enough to wear everyday and for long periods of time. The sole is a cushiony rubber so I don't feel as though I'm walking on pavement. Under the heel is a hole the size of a nickel, so the bone of the heel is actually not "pounding the pavement" as you walk or isn't in constant contact with a hard surface which prevents heel pain. They have a little heel-height, but it's absolutely unnoticeable. I constantly run for the buses/metro, and these are JUST LIKE a good pair of sneakers! The sole inserts are completely removeable and washable and my 3/4 length orthotics fit without problems at all. The ONLY problem I had was that it ran a little small for me. I had to re-order in a half-size up (i.e. 7 to a 7.5). Otherwise, I LOVE this line that Merrell has created, and have ordered a different style in this line. I'm going to order even another style after that one arrives!

I like this shoe very much. I bought this pair just before going on a trip to Chicago and didn't have time to break them in before I left. So, the first time I wore them was on a day when I was on my feet more than normal. I found them to be quite comfortable to walk in. One complaint is that both shoes rubbed just below my big toe where the edge of the top of the shoe hits my foot - to the point of giving me a small blister on the top of my right foot. I have been putting rubbing alcohol on the inside of the top of the shoe to help stretch them out just before I wear them and am putting a bandaid in the spot where the rubbing has occurred. I think they will be fine in another week or so when truly fully broken in.
