I bought these boots, as my old Merrels (20 years old) were falling apart. The new ones felt really small at first, but after a couple of hours they started to feel better. I did close to 20 miles the first week with them, without any blisters or any problems. I really like them alot, and glad I spent the money on them. I would recommend these to anyone.
Wears this shoe: When walking/hiking in the woods, which is a few times a week.

I said these are true to size, which they are...for Merrell's, which run a tad on the wide side just the way I like them to.I've had my boots for a year now. I took a 2 day backpacking trip in the mountains last summer and they were great, and worked great on many day hikes up to 1 mountain miles. I plan a 3 day trip in the next 2 weeks. I just got back from 2 months camping/hiking in the desert, and didn't bring them because I thought light synthetic boots would be cooler. My feet were miserable the whole time, and when I came home and slipped them on they felt soooo good I couldn't believe it. I haven't worn anything else since I got home 3 days ago.I think the rubber molding over the toe is a weak spot. Since I got them I've been worried that it may start to separate a little, and it has now started on both boots. But so far it is a very minor issue that a tiny dab of shoe goo should fix, and I would (and will) definitely buy another pair of these. I haven't tested them in extremely wet conditions either, but I expect they will perform as well as any leather boot can.

I got these for my boyfriend for his birthday, and he loves them. He wears them to work standing on his feet all day and say they are really light feeling and that they mold to his feet. The blue laces are a great touch.

I was looking for a quality hiking boot and the Merrill Perimeter GTX is everything it is advertised to be. Excellent leather uppers with GoreTex and quality lace eyelets make lacing a breeze. The boot is quite light and your feet do not seem to fatigue after a long days wear. An all around quality shoe.
