A light, quick mid-cut boot that can stand up to a sluicing, thanks to Merrell's waterproof construction that blocks water penetration and pick up right down the smallest components. Well-padded waterproof Nubuck leather upper is buttressed by a skeletal molded heel counter and molded side bumpers. Topped by an EVA footframe with Merrell Air Cushion®, the Vibram® Multi-Traction Plus™ sole lugs are comfigured for gripping, braking and stride efficiency. Waterproof construction. Waterproof nubuck/Dura leather upper. Micro injection external heel counter. Silicone molded protective side bumpers. Wire brush rubber toe bumper. Waterproof leather bellows tongue. Nylon 6.6 injection molded arch shank. Compression molded EVA footframe. Air Cushion® midsole. 5mm sole lug depth. Vibram® Multi-Traction Plus™ sole/TC5+ rubber.

A gift for my 22 year old Son. He loves them and wears them non-stop. He never owned a good pair of hiking boots before so is now thrilled to wear them for all his walking and hiking needs.

I bought this boot for hiking in the woods in the winter. I ordered it 1/2 size larger than usual, but because of the narrow toe box, I sent it back and ordered it a FULL size larger. I have problem feet, so I removed the insole and added a orthotic. I've learned not to lace the foot bed too tight, then put a twist in the laces at the ankle before finishing the lacing process. It took a few days of 'adjusting' but now that I've got the adjustment figured out, they are comfortable. I'll be anxious to see if they are too warm for summer. I hope not!

Having purchased 4 pairs of Merrell Sneakers and one pair of casual shoes, I can tell you that if your normal size fits true to size, you will want to purchase a 1/2 size Larger. This was my first pair of Merrell hiking boots and the first time I ordered 1/2 size larger. WOW, I should have listened to all the other reviews.These Outland Mid Waterproof hiking boots are very comfortable and feel light weight. You can wear these puppies all day.I will admit because of the way I stand/walk, placing a gel heal under the bottom shoe liner worked even better for me. On the other hand, I place a gel heel in most of my shoes. I am very, very pleased with this specific shoe.
Wears this shoe: Metal detecting, camping and hiking.

I love these Men's Merrell Outland Mid Waterproof shoes they are as comfortable as my running shoes and look great too. I had these shoes a week when I decided to purchase a second pair which I have stored away for future use! I love these hiking boots and hardly wear sneakers anymore! You will not be disappointed, if you want a light weight, handsome, comfortable hiking boot buy these right now!
